The vaudevillian spectacular The Flying Karamazov Brothers will close at off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre on April 3 prior to a London engagement at the Vaudeville Theatre beginning June 9. The off-Broadway run began on July 22, 2010, following a limited run in the winter of 2010.
A unique blend of music, comedy, dance, theater, and juggling, The Flying Karamazov Brothers spotlights a troupe who juggle till they drop. The audience is invited to bring objects to the theater for the Karamazovs to keep airborne in a challenge that ends either with a pie in the face or a standing ovation, making each show a unique experience and sometimes a messy one. The objects, musical instruments (traditional and invented) and their own bodies combine to make a fresh and compelling evening.
The Flying Karamazov Brothers features Paul Magid, Mark Ettinger, Rod Kimball and Stephen Bent. Written by Magid and The Flying Karamazov Brothers, the show is directed by Magid and choreographed by Doug Elkins, with music direction by Ettinger.
